They will be selling all sorts of valuables, old toys and games, offering fun money-making schemes such as Face Painting, Cake Baking, Lucky Dips etc. Each team will also put their top three items up for LIVE AUCTION at the end of the bazaar, and in a final twist the team that makes the most money gets to take half of their opponent’s takings for their cause!!!  On Saturday August 15th 2009 a new Guinness world record was achieved in Platin, Duleek, Co. Meath, Ireland. A record number of 175 combine harvesters worked simultaneously in one field. Though conditions were damp early morning the sun and a light breeze graced the field after lunch and by 5 pm the 175 combines began to roar. The massive cavalcade began to edge through the wheat which was a sight to behold. The crop was harvested in 15 minutes. A massive congratulations and appreciation goes out to all the participants who devoted their time and effort to the event. Many thanks to all our sponsors supporters and all who helped in the organizing & running of this truly remarkable occasion. We hope that all who attended enjoyed the spectacle. €75,000 has been presented to each of our event beneficiaries, that's a total of €300,000 raised as a result of Combines 4 Charity & a world record was achieved, not bad for a day's work! |
